Where to Land European Forum - embedding European performing arts in the new climate regime
"Where to Land European Forum - embedding European performing arts in the new climate regime
" was held on October 5th and 6th in Strasbourg at the Théâtre du Maillon, together with many professionals and organisations willing to commit to
a more sustainable future for the performing arts sector.
At Where to Land, the European Performing Arts Sector worked on an action plan for transformation based on sustainability and a new climate regime.
With 100 parties from various EU countries, the participants worked together on how the sector should be reorganized on an individual, system, and political level. Think of policy, circular economy and eco-design, and other related areas such as mobility of the public, artists, and other professionals, buildings, and energy that will influence culture and culture policy.
The event was an opportunity for the participants to use their knowledge and inspire a collective approach together with production houses, branch organizations, associations, unions for the performing arts and theaters, and policymakers.
It was also special to see that most of the people present were in favor of wanting to go
radical and striving for degrowth.
The plan will be shared in November.
The European Culture Institutions have a joint responsibility and cannot delegate the ecological
revolution to one party. So we have to work on it ourselves at the EU-,
national, regional, local, and city levels. Preferably also with the creative sector.
The Future - Green Theatre Project was represented at the event
by Endre Papp, project manager.
Special thanks to the Théâtre du Maillon and all the organisers.
